Geronimo Stilton Space mice #1: Alien Escape is the first book in the spin-off series of the wildly successful Geronimo Stilton series. Intended for the same audience as that of the original series, children of 6-12 years of age, this book introduces a Geronimo Stilton from a parallel universe. Geronimo Stilton is the captain of the spaceship Mouse Star 1 which he uses to fly through the cosmos.

The book retains many of the elements of the parent series, like colorful styling, simple language and vibrant illustrations. In this particular story, Geronimo's spaceship is in dire trouble and may explode unless the batteries in the engine are replaced. Geronimo sets about tracking a rare element which could help him solve the problem, when he encounters friendly aliens who claim to be able to help him. He is initially relieved but is not sure if he can actually trust them and wonders whether they are actually as friendly as they seem to be.

Whether Geronimo is able to solve the problem with the help of the aliens and do it safely forms the rest of the story in Geronimo Stilton Space mice #1: Alien Escape. The book is to be followed by #2, You're Mine Captain in the Space mice series. The book was first published in 2014 by Scholastic Paperbacks and it is available in paperback.
